Headlight Restoration in Vernon
Foggy, yellowed headlights make a newer vehicle look old and cut how far you can see at night. We bring the lenses back to clear and seal them so they stay that way.

Same lens, before and after. The haze is oxidized plastic, and it comes off.

Why Headlights Go Cloudy
Modern headlight lenses are polycarbonate plastic with a thin factory UV coating. Years of Okanagan sun, road grit and harsh washes wear that coating off, and the plastic underneath oxidizes and turns yellow. Toothpaste and drugstore kits polish the surface for a few weeks, but without new protection the haze comes right back.
How We Restore Them
- Tape off the paint around the lens.
- Wet sand through the oxidized layer in progressively finer steps.
- Machine polish the lens back to optical clarity.
- Seal it with a UV protective coating so the haze stays off.
Want them to stay clear even longer? Paint protection film on the lenses also stops chips. Restoration is often added to a full detail or done before a sale. See the paint correction page for how we handle cloudy paint.
Questions and answers
Headlight Questions
1.Will my headlights pass inspection after?
Restored lenses let far more light through than hazy ones. If a lens is cracked or the reflector inside is damaged, restoration cannot fix that and we will tell you.
2.How long does it last?
With the UV sealant, years rather than weeks. Parking in a garage and adding film makes it last longer.
